Campaign Cute

Marc Jacobs, Beyonce’ and other politically-active, fashion-savvy designers have created runway worthy styles supporting the 2012 Barrack Obama presidential campaign. Unlike other political fashion creations that can be boringly simple, these designs are inspired and chic. From bags to clutches, tee-shirts and tanks, rocking your political stance has never been more easy. Pairing this Beyoncé and Tina Knowles tee with the navy clutch by Grace Tsao-Wu and Laura Kofoid, together with your favorite black skinnies couldn’t be a more fashionable way to boldly accent your voting voice.

Check out the store on the Campaign’s Website to pre-order AND be sure to keep an eye out for additional designs from Russel Simmons, Vera Wang and others!

. . . And A SAVVY New Year!

Get your new year off to a fashionable start with these tips of the trade. Great advice to help you wow at your New Year’s Party, and clean into the rest of 2012. Get inspired with tips from Fashion Designer and Expert Claudia Patel and channel your inner starlet.

Sequined Stripe Minis

Form fitting sequined striped minis have been a hit with celebs on the red carpet this winter. And it’s no wonder why. This tight getup is both sexy and has the right amount of sparkle for this year’s party.  Horizontal stripes work best with petite frames, as they add width. Opt for darker colors that give a slimming effect and a few wide stripes, instead of thin if you are shapely.

  Tuxedo Jackets

This versatile look can take you from sleek to chic, and can be worn night or day. A truly good investment, you can pair a tuxedo jacket with bold color jeans, a dress or your new black skinny jeans.  Is your upper body your problem area? Then draw attention to your legs in this number. Want to keep it classic? Pair a black tuxedo jacket with tight skinny jeans.

Classic LBD with a Twist

Who says a twisted situation is always negative? In fact, a twist on the classic LBD screams flirty chic. If you would like to keep it simple, the asymmetrical styling of a twisted one-shoulder dress creates a great fashion focal point. Steer clear of necklaces, and opt for drop earrings. Spice it up with a bold color.  If you have broad shoulders, stay away from cross over twisted tops that will draw attention to your problem area, and further broaden your shoulders. This look works great on petite frames.

October Wrap-Up: Pink Picks

With October coming to an end, The Fab Savvy team wanted to wrap up the month by highlighting some of our favorite Breast Cancer Awareness supporting items.

Number 3 ~ Clinique: Great Lips Great Cause

If you have not snagged one of these already, you may be too late. This key ring set includes two cute charms and three pampering lip formulas from Clinique. For just $16, the set was a popular buy at Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and online. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Great Lips Great Cause

Number 2 ~ Michael Kors: Key To The Cure Tee

Michael Kors, for Saks Fifth Avenue, designed a wonderful, wearable tee. Its everything we have come to depend on MK to be; cute but easily added to our wardrobe rotation. This would look great under a blazer. Proceeds help benefit local breast cancer charities.

Key To Cure Tee

Number 1 ~ Kara Ross for Ann Taylor Loft: Kara Ross Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelet

Our Favorite October pick is this bracelet by Kara Ross. The piece is one of three from three great designers approached by Ann Taylor to create items specifically to raise research funds. $5 from each purchase goes toward the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Tickle Me Pink . . . For A Good Cause

The Tickle Me Pink fashion show will be going strong once again this year. This impressive student produce show, features work from student designers from all over Texas. The event benefits Houston based Pink Ribbons Project, a local breast cancer awareness initiative. Last year, this young talent put to shame some designers old enough to be their parents. I hear it will be an even bigger event this year! If you’re in Houston come on out, Thursday April 29th, and support young local talent and a wonderful non-profit organization. See the details , here, on our Events page.
