Michael Kors, for Saks Fifth Avenue, designed a wonderful, wearable tee. Its everything we have come to depend on MK to be; cute but easily added to our wardrobe rotation. This would look great under a blazer. Proceeds help benefit local breast cancer charities.

Our Favorite October pick is this bracelet by Kara Ross. The piece is one of three from three great designers approached by Ann Taylor to create items specifically to raise research funds. $5 from each purchase goes toward the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Don’t underestimate the power of a great bag. Now is the time of year to play around with color, and the perfect bag is a fool-proof way to do just that. Tickle Me Pink . . . For A Good Cause
The Tickle Me Pink fashion show will be going strong once again this year. This impressive student produce show, features work from student designers from all over Texas. The event benefits Houston based Pink Ribbons Project, a local breast cancer awareness initiative. Last year, this young talent put to shame some designers old enough to be their parents. I hear it will be an even bigger event this year! If you’re in Houston come on out, Thursday April 29th, and support young local talent and a wonderful non-profit organization. The most important aspect of your own personal style is, of course, YOU! In light of that, Fab Savvy wants to help you define your style so that it reflects your personality. After all, isn’t that the whole point? Hopefully this series of tips can help 2010 be your most fashionably personalized year yet.

Many people limit themselves by failing to use the vastness of the internet to their advantage when it comes to shopping. Now don’t get me wrong, I like mall & boutique hopping quite a bit. Cyberspace howevever, can often offer a helping hand.
Shopbob.com, for instance, gives you the option of shopping by style. You can choose from categories like Classic, Bohemian, Cassual Chic, and more.
Shopbop is also a good resource for shopping by designers. And remember that even if you don’t purchase online, browsing sites can give you an idea of what you want your personal style to include. This can help you know what to look for when you shop in person and help you avoid buying pieces you won’t actually wear.
StyleFeeder.com is another useful site. This service allows you to search for everything from jewelry to jeans that spark your interest. Once you have picked a few items, Style Feeder makes suggestions of similar pieces you may like. The more you pick, the more customized your suggestions become. You can also add your cool personal StyleFeeder button to your website, blog, or Facebook page.
If you aren’t yet hip to Etsy, you should be. This site gives you access to an endless roster of designers of all kinds, from diamond jewelry to funky scarves and every handmade item in between. Often, indie or new designers will have the next best thing on Etsy, for last years prices.
